Glockenlied

Glocken Lied

In July 2014, the composition “Glockenlied” was performed at the church of St. Katharinen in Hamburg. This is a piece for a large choir and orchestra, which also integrates the original sounds of the bells of the five main churches in Hamburg (St. Nikolai, St. Jacobi, St. Katharinen, St. Petri and St. Michaelis). In this composition Gloria is “imagining the city of Hamburg as an instrument in constant change.” And in this way, the city of Hamburg became part of the musical score.

For the performance of Glockenlied, the Hamburg Symphony musicians were conducted by Wilhelm Keitel and the Neue Knabenchor of the Hamburg School of Music directed by Jens Bauditz, performed on the stage of the Jungfernstiegd.
